Pondering Worship

Just some thought for discussion today……on worship…..

It has been said that worship is coming and giving to God all that we have; but I wonder if maybe true worship is coming to the place where we truly understand our position before God and realize and confess that we truly have nothing of worth to give.  Maybe giving our all includes the acknowledgement and surrender of the truth that we really have nothing to give.  Is the position of worship to be laid open for all to see in the dancing, swaying of hands, and loud voices or in laying ourselves prostrate before the Lord in confession?

You thoughts…………………………………………………………..

Modesty Carnival

modestycarnival1

I am honored to host the Modesty Carnival for the month of March.  There were only a few submissions but they are good ones.  Take some time today to read through them all; there is definitely a wide variety listed here.  Please comment on those who chose to submit this month and let me know which ones you enjoyed the most.

Is modesty only for women? Are men and children also to dress modestly? What kind of examples as parents do we send?  Bethany addresses these questions in her post Modesty:Not Just for Ladies.

Many people feel a woman’s hair is her pride and glory, and should be saved for her husband viewing only. Here are some quick and easy ways to cover your hair, while still looking attractive.

De’Etta wrote a great little article. She hits many different issues surrounding this topic of modesty and has several questions which are sure to make you stop and think.  Go and be challenged, A Few Thoughts on Modesty.

My good friend Rebecca is preparing for her daughter’s wedding soon and has written a post on being a Modest Wedding Guest.  Here is a quote.

Why should modesty be a consideration when attending a wedding?  Simply because, while it is quite natural to be the center of our own attention, a wedding guest who wants to be the center of attention at a wedding ought to just have declined the invitation.

If you haven’t noticed there is a trend in today’s maternity cloths.  I agree that being pregnant can be a wonderful experience and I personally love the pregnant belly but I do not want to see everyone’s!  I find it tiring and not so attractive to see the pants below the belly whilst the shirt does not cover the belly.  Here is a link for a way to have that fashionable layered look and make sure you are completely covered. They make hipster and mini underclothing to “fill in the gap” your others clothes do not always cover. Visit Nothing Bare Clothing.

Celebrate Femininity: the following is a statement from those at Bellissima :

We believe in rejoicing in our God-given gift of femininity by joyfully choosing to dress in a way that protects, and in doing so, brings glory to God by proclaiming His beauty. “Let the beauty of the Lord be upon us.” (Psalm 90:17)

Moving beyond the clothing….

The emotional side of modesty and purity is the most important part of your being a Godly young man or woman of God.

Jocelyn addresses this in her article Modesty is more than you Apparel.

Here is an entry from Linda, a regular commenter here. Visit Thought of the Heart to read her entry. Here is a small snippet from her post.

A person adorned in modesty has great worth. They are a token of purity to their spouse and if not married a treasure given wholly to the Lord.

Modesty, one woman’s journey.  Here is a post from Emma about her continual journey to live a modest life.  See where and how the Lord has lead her along this path.  Her article is entitled, Modesty Wasn’t my Middle Name.

Finally, be sure to check out the new site Is This Modest? to contribute on the topic of modesty in today’s culture.

Visit Christine over at Live to Learn to read her story.  Her family has traveled the road of sterilization and reversal.  In her post, Our Vasectomy Reversal Story,  she shares about the amazing way that the Lord has worked in their lives.

Lady Why over at Where the Kudzu Grows has an amazing story of going through sterilization and reversal two times.  The Lord has worked in many amazing ways and she lists miracle after miracle in her story.  To read visit: A Testimony of the Lord’s Patience, Grace, Miracles, and Faithfulness.

Kerri has a unique way of sharing her beliefs.  Read her Arrow Story on her blog, Life with Full Hands.

Audrey, has taken the time to show the effects living this lifestlye has had upon the generations of her family.  If only more would stop and consider the great impact they could have for the Lord if only they would be open to the blessings of the Lord.  Read her post over on her blog, So, This is Heaven on Earth.

The last link in this carnival is for the Peterson Clan blog.  The post is a short one but touches on a topic that many do not see.  The fact that not all who live this lifestyle are blessed with many children and that there must be contentment and trust concerning that as well.

I hope you are blessed and encouraged by the links included in this carnival.  Please take some time to browse the blogs listed, leave them a comment, and please come back here and share your favorite link, something you learned, something that encouraged you or made you think.  For more blogs of quiverfull minded families go to the quiverfull page.  Have a blessed day!
