Can You Guess These 13 Movie Quotes?

Here are quotes from 13 of my favorite movies, one per movie. Can you guess which movies they are without doing a search?

  1. I was just thinking that of all the trails in this life there is one that matters most. It is the trail of a true human being. I think you are on this trail and it is good to see.
  2. This list… is an absolute good. The list is life. All around its margins lies the gulf.
  3. You made Mrs. March feel like she could see again. You made Ford believe he was part of something. You give out hope like it was candy in your pocket.
  4. You must know… surely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I’d scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.
  5. Well, ain’t this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!
  6. Perhaps, instead of asking questions of our trials, our trials are ment to ask questions of ourselves.
  7. Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout as you did in Rome. Do your worst, for I will do mine! Then the fates will know you as we know you: as Albert Mondego, the man!
  8. Female: When we are married, will you dance with me? I find dancing very agreeable. Why can you not say what is in your head?
Male: Why can you not stop saying what is in yours? Why must you lead, when I want to lead? If I want to dance I will ask you to dance. If I want to speak I will open my mouth and speak. Everyone is forever plaguing me to speak further. Why? What good is it to tell you you are in my every thought from the time I wake? What good can come from my saying that I sometimes cannot think clearly or do my work properly? What gain can rise of my telling you the only time I feel fear as others do is when I think of you in harm? That is why I am on this porch, Ivy Walker. I fear for your safety before all others. And yes, I will dance with you on our wedding night.
  9. You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.
  10. You smell like beef and cheese, you don’t smell like Santa.
  11. Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously. Moses he knowses his toeses aren’t roses as Moses supposes his toeses to be.
  12. Adam, you’re my eldest brother. Now I’ve always looked up to ya, tried to ape ya. But today I’m ashamed of you. Now I know you can lick me, lick the tar outta me! But I wouldn’t hold myself no kinda man unless I showed ya how I felt! [punches him]
  13. There’s a difference between us. You think the people of this country exist to provide you with position. I think your position exists to provide those people with freedom. And I go to make sure that they have it.

Lord of the Dorks

I stumbled across this earlier in the week and laughed so hard! I am in total disagreement with my husband when it comes to liking the movie Napoleon Dynamite. Hubby thought it was funny and I HATED it!! The Lord of the Rings is a favorite around our house though. We both agreed that this poster was hilarious! Brian over at My Fake Posters did a great job on this one, we are still laughing! What do you think???

One Night with the King

Last night we watched a movie that is becoming one of my favorites. “One Night with the King” tells the story of Esther. It gives a brief history lesson and tell of how Hadassah becomes Queen Esther and ultimately is used of God to save her people.

“One Night With The King” – The Call of Destiny – chronicles the life of the young Jewish girl, Hadassah, who goes on to become the Biblical Esther, the Queen of Persia, and saves the Jewish nation from annihilation at the hands of its arch enemy while winning the heart of the fiercely handsome King Xerxes. Purim.

Here is a wonderful movie review. It is a Christian movie review and also details the story line. Here is how it begins…

Esther, Jewish queen of gentile Persia, set a remarkable example of personal sacrifice. Although understandably at first hesitant, she willingly risked her life so others could be saved. In this respect she prefigured the sacrifice of the coming Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, who willingly gave His life so each of us could have the opportunity to receive God’s gift of salvation, eternal life in His Kingdom.

Last but not least, here is the movie trailer.

The Ultimate Gift

This is the absolute best movie I have seen in recent months! This movie produced by Fox Faith, is the story of Jason Stevens, a man who was raised on a trust fund. When his grandfather (played by James Garner) dies, Jason must pass a series of life-lessons (or gifts) in order to receive his inheritance. This sends him on a great journey, one he would never have chosen to take, and he is forced to determine what truly matters in life: money or a love for others.
