My parents went to visit the church where I grew up that my dad pastored almost 30 yrs ago. They were celebrating building a new worship center. Guess what I looked like? The inside was all black, no windows, no pulpit, looked like a set up for a rock concert. When they talked with the pastor (who is a friend of my dad’s) he said they are focusing on bringing in the people who wouldn’t normally want to go to church. The sermon was short, the music was loud & my parents were not sure what to think. It was so discouraging, another church lost.

@Dana @ Little This~A Little That, People seem to be trying so hard to bring in the non-believer or self-entertainment-focused believer that they seem to forget that God is the one who draws the heart. We are to be a living testimony outside those church walls and God will draw their hearts. Why do we need to entertain? Isn’t worship about God not us. Isn’t the Gospel of Christ enough???
