You mentioned "the process of sanctification", and I was reminded of a book I think you would enjoy (and may have already read). Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas (There's the book and then his follow-up devotional, which is new material that supports the message in his book). I think you'd really love it as it talks about how marriage isn't to make us happy but HOLY... its a process of sanctification.
