I agree that christianity has been dumbed down and fluffed up so that of course ...you musn't offend people!! the doctrine of the day. My own family is very mixed up with one thing and another and some of them are caught up in marshmellow gospel, but I always remember my great grandfather making me promise to pray for my sister, and I know that prayer is the one thing I can do, praying for the souls of my friends and families that either don't believe or for those who have been marshmellowed. I do morn for them but I also know that if I could very easily get swallowed up in morning so that I chose to try to live as Christ would want me to and pray for those who need it. Maybe their scales on their eyes will fall away or they will start to question what they have been feed all these years. We must rest in Him so that we don't get worn out with what we see around us, and pray for those we see in need.

Take heart Kristine. It was pointed out to me recently that Jesus is never recorded as laughing in the scripture. While I believe he would have joyed in the normal events of family ife and friends in his human nature, he was totally grieved by the sin and depravity of this fallen world, as holy God. As one of his, and as our faith deepens, I think we do grieve more and more. The reason so many christians don't seem to see it is the fluffy gospel which is presented where sin is downplayed and self is exalted.
We long with expectation for His glorious return! Come quickly Lord Jesus.

I totally agree with your post. I just don't stay mourning because it takes me away from the other things I need to do.(too much to mourn about)
I do not like anything about this world and I am very much looking forward to Jesus' return!

I also come from a very messed up family and extended family. I pray for them and I hope for their salvation but that is for God to decide. I do my best to be fully accepting of God's will, whatever that may be.

Cultural mainstream Christianity has become politically correct. Even from our pulpits we rarely hear any outcry towards sin. And when we do it is most certainly sugar coated so as not to taste too bad. Totally agree with your post.
