Pondering Grey

This may seem like a crazy thing to ponder but I have pondered it anyway. Have you ever pondered about grey hair? I did have some grey hair in highschool which I attribute to my stressful homelife; my hair no longer contained any grey after I married. But now that I am older, the grey is beginning to return little by little due to age and since my hubby is noticing it more, it has been on my mind. Now that being said, he does have many more greys than I do and I have noticed it is the red hair that is turning first. In fact, mine are not even grey they are white, white, white and get pulled out as soon as I see it! LOL Pathetic, I know. I have a dear friend who has grey hair and she has the most beautiful hair you could imagine, it doesn’t make her seem old at all. In fact, she has so much energy and spunk that I am a bit jealous. *grin* Which brings me to my pondering question for the day………….

Why is it that when men grey they are said to be distinquished but when women grey we are said to be old?

Here is my last comment on the subject and one I prefer to cling to as my hair gradually turns.

Proverbs 16:31 Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.

Ever since I started growing my hair for Pantane locks I have noticed grey. I guess because there’s more of it! I’d like to think it makes me distinguished but sometimes all it does it remnd me I’m closer to 50!

    Be blessed!

This is so funny and what timing. I pulled 6 GREY hair out of my bangs and showed my husband last night. It isn’t as noticeable to others as it is to me. I have sandy blond hair so it blends in, but I’m not fond of it. :P

Many years ago I vowed never to color my hair. Platinum hairs are sprouting in my bangs. Its’ unfortunate because the grey ones are all VERY curly, but the rest of my hair is straight.

I don’t think I appreciate my grey as much as I should.I have black hair so it is starting to show. It seems that I’ve gotten quite a bit of grey here in the last 4 or 5 years. It’s unruly and wants to stick out. I haven’t noticed men in grey with unruly grey ones.
I guess it is just another subtle reminder that we too shall wither away like the grass. Want it or not- I’m aging.

    Sincerely,
    Linda

I have quite a bit of grey. It isn’t mixed in either. I’m pulling an Elvira grey. LOL. Whatever. My hubby loves it. I don’t pull them out or cover them up. I’ve earned them all.

I’m only 27 and I have much visible grey! BOO…
Sigh. To be fair, my husband LOVES it. He says it reminds him that we’re growing old together. Isn’t that lovely?
I tried coloring over it, but it didn’t take worth a hoot. So I’m going to embrace the grey baby!

I’ve been noticing it too! (In my own hair, that is…) My hair has always been blond, though darker blond as I age, so it kind of blends in. I’m growing it back out. I remember a sweet OLD (very old) lady I knew all my life. Thelma always wore her hair in braids, circling her head. Kind of reminded me of pictures of Corrie ten Boom. Maybe I’ll try that!

I want to apologize for the trouble over the past two weeks. I’ve been having issues with Yahoo not sending the posts out because of what they’re calling “suspicious activity” when I try. Not sure what’s going on. But in the future, if you don’t get the post via email you can go to the main Wednesday Hero page on Tuesday and download it.
