Quote to Ponder

I stumbled across this quote on a friend’s facebook page. It is one that I have been pondering for a while. I find myself thinking of this often, knowing that God has the best planned for me. His best for me is to mold me into the likeness of Christ Jesus. This molding is more often than not an uncomfortable process. I find myself longing to be more like my Lord, knowing He knows what is best to accomplish this task, but wondering how painful that process will turn out to be and in a small way desiring to avoid the process altogether. Lord, help me to be more like you, to be a pliable clay, and please be gentle in the molding process. May all the glory go to you Lord for the finished product! Praise be to God!

What are your thoughts on this quote?

“We are not doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.” C.S. Lewis

I absolutely love that quote. SO true. I’ve found that my most painful trials are the ones I learn the most from. It helps (a bit) to know that God can see past the momentary discomfort that we fear to the glory He can receive from our obedience!

Oh the molding process, so painful at times and yet so very necessary!

I don’t think any of us enjoy the process of being molded into the image of Jesus Christ–but when we can look back on how much we’ve changed and grown and healed since 5 or 10 years ago, there’s joy in that.

It reminds me of how Scriptures say that Jesus despised the shame of the cross for the joy that was to come.
