Frozen Lochness
Several months ago our family took a trip out to Portage Lake. The lake is at the base of a glacier and every year as the thaw sets in icebergs break off of the glacier into the lake. I have heard that this is a pretty spectacular site. Earlier in the summer is probably the best time to go before these small icebergs melt but we did not arrive in Alaska early enough. By the time we made it for a visit, it was already late August and most of the icebergs had already melted. There was however, one lone little iceberg in the lake which is pictured below. I think it looks a little like the Lochness monster. What do you think?

Wow, that looks like one “cool” lake. The little iceberg does look like the Loch Ness Monster though. How are you feeling?
