Oh My–THANK YOU!

I have been very blessed this week and am honored to receive this award. This award was passed along to my by both Tracy and Mommy Reg.

Here are the details of the award:“This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy]. They are all charming blogs, and the majority of them aim to show the marvels of friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”

Now for the new recipients of this award.

  1. Trish @ A Joyful Heart
  2. De’Etta @ Choosing Joy
  3. Mary @ Raising 4 Godly Men
  4. Lynn @ Eclectic Education
  5. Jenn @ Busy At Home

I am also honored to receive this award passed along to me by Nancy. Thank you Nancy for your kind words!!

“This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his/her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values every day.”
The rules to follow are :
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog
together with the name of the person that has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to other 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment. Remember to contact each of them to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

The recipients for this award are as follows.

  1. Mrs. June Fuentes @ A Wise Woman Builds Her House
  2. Sister Lisa @ The Homespun Life
  3. Grafted Branch @ Restoring the Years
  4. Bobbie @ Encouragement Along the Way
  5. Lisa @ Second Generation Homeschooling

Okay, so I know I broke the rules and only listed 5 blogs for each award but how many blogs can one keep up on constantly?! And do I really want to admit that I actually follow THAT many?? *grin* Plus that saves more blogs to pass things along to later. Take some time and visit all of these great blogs! You will be blessed just as I have been!

Did YOU Miss It?

My hubby has had a bit if a stressful week. There has been a lot to do at work and much of his work is emotionally stressful. He often ministers to people who are in spiritual, emotional, and/or physical crisis. This past week was one of those weeks. There was a couple who lost their child due to a heart defect at 22 weeks gestation. It was a difficult thing. No one came by to offer this family any support except for my husband. Everyone else seemed to busy or preoccupied to even notice what was going on in their life. Even through the pain and the loss, however, this family took time to bond with, name, photograph, and make impressions of the little girl’s feet. They took time to notice this creation. It seemed as if no one else stopped but they, even though in great pain, took time to soak in the goodness of the creation of the Lord.

Later that night at home as my hubby was busying himself working on the surround sound system we received a call. Now we have been busy for so long with so much to do. We are still trying to get our house in order and are beginning to grow weary in those efforts. It is a tiring ordeal to remodel and unpack at the same time. Not much else fills our viewfinder at the moment, we are focusing on accomplishing our task of being settled. Back to the phone call. It was about 10 pm and hubby was busy working away when the phone rang. It was a friend asking if we had noticed the Northern Lights. It was a clear enough night that there was a small glimpse of them in the sky. Hubby quickly hung up the phone and got everyone out of bed and we headed out into the 15 degree weather. There was not a lot to see but a there was definitely a moving green glow to the skyline above the trees. It was beautiful and another reminder of our great creator! We were so busy with life that we had not even thought to look out at the beautiful night sky before heading to bed.

How often we miss things. How often we neglect to see the handiwork of God because we are to preoccupied with those things we deem important. How often? Would we be surprised at the answer to that? Take some time to be still and KNOW that He is God! Enjoy the beauty he has placed before us. Give him the honor and praise due his holy name! Let us make sure NOT to miss a thing!

Celebrate Reformation Day

Today I thouyght I would share some links to help you and your family celebrate Reformation Day. You can introduce your children to medeival games and skits. Study on a reformer. Watch movies of reformers such as Luther. There are many things you can do to make this a holiday that has purpose and is glorifying to the Lord rather than halloween which glorifies the prince of darkness. Here are some links to check out.

Baby Stats & Update

As our due date approaches there will probably be more baby stats and updates. I had my OB appointment today and things went well. Thank you all for praying for us! Our little one is no longer breech! Praise the Lord! They did another quick ultrasound and everything looks wonderful! 25 days until our due date and hopefully this little one will make an appearance before then.

Pondering: Feeding Guests

Vegetables
Vegetables

I am often stumped when it comes to preparing a dinner to feed guests. I usually have two meals that I prepare; spaghetti and a chicken and broccoli braid. Do you have any recipes that are delicious, easy to prepare, healthy, and go a long way when you have a large group to feed?

Prayer & Family Updates

Please continue to pray for my grandmother. She does indeed have cancer. Her breast cancer has returned and is now in her lung and bones. She needs to know Christ.

My nephew Max is doing better. He is in a care facility (in temporary state custody) and is finally receiving the care that he needs. Since his traecheotomy he has gained quiet a bit of weight and is now able to roll over. He also has glasses now. When he weighs enough and is strong enough he will need to have his double clef pallete repaired.

We are also making progress on our kitchen. I have a stove hooked up to use but now I have to find my pots and pans! A few cabinets went in last night. I am thinking that I am going to have to repaint, I am just not liking color. I will post photos when the kitchen is done and will be asking for your advice!

Hubby has to work today so we are all a bit sad about that. I have also been feeling a bit under the weather the last few days and am praying that my blood pressure is not the cause. I will see the OB again on Monday. As far as I can tell our little one is still breech so we would love for you to continue to pray for us.

One last thing, I decided to try out the twitter thing. So if you are on twitter , look me up.
