A Busy and Fun Filled Weekend

My hubby had a few days off and we have had a great time getting to enjoy our new surroundings. We had an inspection on the house and have submitted a list of repairs to the current owner. We should know where we are going with that later this coming week.

We took a day and headed out of town and stopped at Beluga Point but didn’t actually see any whales. It is only a few miles out of town so we will have many more opportunities to catch a glimpse of the ocean wildlife. We headed down the Seward Highway and stopped at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Refuge. It was great! We were able to see Alaskan wildlife up close. The brown bears were in the pond playing with the fish and having a grand time. It did rain most of the day but with our new rain/water proof jackets from REI we still had a fun and fairly dry time.

After the Conservation Refuge we headed to Portage and their visitor center. It is so much fun to be able to see glacier after glacier, waterfall after waterfall, and icebergs in the lake! It is so beautiful and creation most definitely displays the glory of the Lord!

We took some time to check out activities that the base offers. The children and my hubby spent some time climbing the rock wall and the little ones played on the indoor playground. We finished the day with a game of bowling and a dinner out.

We had a good day today and were able to take time out as we should to fellowship with other believers and worship the Lord. I can tell that we have been busy because starting yesterday were the ever so fun contractions! They are starting earlier than usual, I still have three months to go! So I am off to rest and put my feet up!

We are thoroughly enjoying being here in Alaska! How are things in your neck of the woods??? May the Lord bless you!

I was praying for you yesterday and wondering where you are in the “settling in” process. I’m so glad to hear that the Lord has provided a home :) What a relief! We opted to live on-base, but are still waiting for our HHG to show up. On Wed, Rick gets to query TMO as to the status… Miss you!

Hi!!! Have you found a big enough home to stay in? Hope so. Sorry I’ve been away and not visiting much these past few weeks. I’m still on a little blog vacation, but am posting periodically. School starts up in two weeks… so, I’ll be back on a better schedule soon.

    Have a great week.

EAFB Community Center is still our favorite! We spent many happy winter hours “climbing the walls” there. ::snort::

It’s fun to hear what you are up to…rejoicing with you that details are working out. Praying for your new little one.
