Good question. Well in my KJV it uses help and meet as seperate words so a ‘help’ that is ‘meet’ for him. To me that means that I am to help balance his life and meet his needs. I am to complete him. Any area that he needs my help to keep him balanced and completed is my honor to fulfill.

I completely agree. It takes a strong woman to willingly submit to her husband, not a doormat! I also think being a helpmeet means growing into the wife/woman that your husband needs you to be, because all husbands need something different. As helpmeets, our roles may differ greatly from one to the other, but as long as we are honoring our husbands, then we are successful.

I agree with what you wrote. I think you said it well. I strive to be a good help meet. It is easy a lot of the time and hard sometimes. No matter, easy or hard, it is so worth it. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

This is a lesson I learn more about each day. I posted on it a few weeks ago actually.
Being a helpmeet means being a servant, willingly and with a cheerful heart. Without expecting ‘your due’ in return. To love and respect and serve your husband, even when he doesn’t deserve it.
I love being my husband’s helpmeet. It’s amazing the power we hold as wives. We have the power to build our men up or to tear them down, simply with our actions and words. Being a helpmeet is commiting to build our husbands up always.

Hi Kristine thanks for the comment. The way we bought at discount is by signing up as an associate, otherwise it was a bit too high. The timing was right for us, we were stuck in a hotel for 7 weeks, and dh’s job was paying for “food”, no matter what the food was LOL. I still have an info CD if you want, I can put in the mail to you.

RE: helpmeet. I am currently (still) reading Created to Be his Helpmeet, and boy howdy is that killing me LOL. If I concentrate on each chapter and have the Holy Spirit change me, it may be ahwile till I finish it.

I agree that Helpmeet means exactly what the Bible says, the problem is when the other half is not doing his part, i.e. living with the wife in understanding (from above), not washing the wife with the word, nor training the kids, etc…. the focus needs to remain on “doing as unto the Lord”.
