T13–More About Grandma

My grandmother passed away on Saturday. She was very dear to me. You can read a bit about her here. So today I thought that I would share a little more about my much loved grandmother.
- She attended a one room school house.
- She graduated from 8th grade.
- She loved Scotty Dogs.
- She used interesting words I have never heard another use; words like floozie when someone wore too much make-up.
- She collected salt & pepper shakers.
- She liked to eat burnt black toast.
- She had the sweetest laugh.
- She never remarried after my grandpa died (he died in his early 40′s from a heart attack).
- She hated snakes, they gave her the willies.
- She loved the big city and was scared of the woods.
- One way she showed you she loved you was to feed you a big meal.
- She took care of my great grandma (her momma) when other siblings would not.
- She filled my childhood with good memories.
I miss you and love you grandma!

Makes me wish I’d known her.
Floozie is a familiar term to me but then, my mum is in her sixties so maybe it’s an older generation kind of thing. I really haven’t heard it used in years. Definitely not since moving to the U.S.

aww she sounds like she was such a blessing.
re: you asked about so many links for weblink wed. I have many folders set up in my favorites, and as I’m researching along, I just save the pages in there
On my OLD PC I have much more for preK when I was a daycare provider/ preK influence. I should post from that PC next Wed.
thanks for stopping by

How precious. Great photo and great words. Your grandma would smile in her special way right now if she could read your post that your wrote about her.

One of these days you will get to carry on the legacy of being a wonderful grandmother.
As the saying goes, “If we knew the grandkids would be this much fun, we’d had them first!”
Happy TT
