A Year of the Lord’s Favor
November is a month of falling leaves, cooler weather, and the Thanksgiving holiday. There are leaves to rake, warm clothes to unpack, and pies to bake. It is easy to get caught up in all the busyness. Remember it is okay to take a moment and jump in that pile of leaves with the children, that unpacking warm clothes can be a fashion show , and that the smell of baking pies brings comfort and can be used to train daughters in the kitchen. Do not look upon the busyness as a burden or the silver lining will be missed. As Mary Poppins says, “In every job that must be done there is an element of fun, you find the fun, and snap, the job’s a game!”
Remember, this time of year is a time to celebrate the harvest. For all the work you have put forth this year, celebrate the harvest. For all that the Lord has done, celebrate the harvest. There are so many things to be thankful for, celebrate and give thanks. The family that the Lord has blessed you with is a tremendous blessing, give thanks, not only in words but in deeds. Celebrate with your spouse and your children. Let God be the focus, for all we have has come from Him. Worship together as a family. May God be honored and glorified in your life and in the life of your family this Thanksgiving season. Celebrate the harvest and proclaim the year of Lord’s favor.
The Year of the Lord‘s Favor
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor;he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor…” Isaiah 61
