Blogging With A Purpose

Eric Novak came out with the Christian award “Blogging with a Purpose” in late April of 2007. With so many secular awards around, Eric thought it would be a good idea to come out with a Christian award. I was nominated for this award by my blogging buddy Jacque. I am humbled and honored by this. My sincerest THANK YOU!
The scripture verse which is the theme for “Blogging with a Purpose” is Matthew 5:31.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. Matthew 5:13 NASB
So now it is my duty and privilege to nominate five others who I feel meet the criteria of “being salty” and “Blogging with a Purpose”.
For those nominated, there are a few rules to follow if accepting this award. Please go HERE for the code and the rules of participation!
The nominees are listed below in no particular order.
- Deborah @ One Beggar’s Bread: I have just recently begun reading Deborah’s blog but I have been encouraged every time I have visited. She has purposed to focus on the high calling of being an encouraging helper to her husband and to slow down and smell all the divine appointments the Lord sends her way, focusing on home and hospitality.
- Valerie @ Just4homeschoolfamilies: Of course, I have to nominate Miss Valerie! She does so much to help, support, and encourage homeschooling families. There are days when I think it is her mission to be my own personal encourager! She is a blogger that truly blesses others.
- Nathan @ Presbyterian Thoughts; Promoting Intelligent Piety:Nathan’s blog is also a recent addition to my reader. I find it very informative and have enjoyed reading what he writes. He is currently studying for his Masters of Divinity and his purpose is to live a life unto the glory of Jesus Christ.
- Cindy @ The Dominion Family: She focuses on Classical Christian education as well as being an encourager for younger mothers. Her blog offers a place to learn and grow.
- MInTheGap: MInTheGap focuses on our current culture and how it is in opposition to God. He seeks to be one who stands in the Gap between God and man. He seeks to be obedient to God’s commission to be a beacon of truth, to reflect His glory, to spread His love, and to be salt and light in the world that is bland and dark.

You made my day – how did you know I needed something like this today
I guess the Lord did… thank you. I also believe that this award was given to you for the same reasons you mentioned about me. You are such an inspiration to me – I’m glad I found you in blogland.

Thank you. Sometimes I feel like closing shop, wondering if people are actually being edified or am I just wasting my time?
It is good to know that people read and profit. My desire is to promote intelligent piety. May the Lord grant that.

This award may speak to others (all of us) about the importance of what we are doing when we sit down to blog. Just before reading your blog this morning I perused several other Christian blogs and noticed that they are mostly in-house blogs; Christian to Christian about rather heady theological stuff; answering questions few are asking. It was a pleasure to read this this morning and like Valerie I needed to read this.

Stephanie- we are doing well, getting over a little flu bug at the moment but other than that things are good.
For several of you– I am glad that this post was timely for you , God is the one who makes things available when they are needed I am glad to be used of Him in this instance!
