Children’s Spiritual Growth
It is such an amazing blessings when you are able to see your children’s spiritual growth. When you are allowed to see that all of your efforts in teaching them have not been in vain. When you are able to see the fruit of your labors. Even more amazing is seeing that they have grown in an understanding beyond where you as a parent taught them to where the Scripture and the Spirit have taught them.
Last night when coming home from AWANA our daughter said that she noticed her leader saying some things that were just not correct according to the scriptures. This of course, led to a big discussion. We were in agreement with her and were trying to explain to her, though incorrect as they were, the thought process this individual (and others who believe the same) tend to use. I tell you, this daughter of ours was quoting scripture after scripture(in context)that showed the inconsistency and contradictory aspects of this thought process.
We decided to have a bit of fun and play devil’s advocate and see how she responded, again the response was with scripture after scripture being quoted to us! This girl knows her Bible! Then we made a comment (cannot even remember what it was because we were so shocked by her response) she replied “well they are acting just like the Judizers by…….”
We were stunned!!
I am so proud that our daughter is seeking the Lord and learning His Word and applying it. She is evaluating the statements of others to see if they are in line with Scripture and if not she knows the scripture that teaches otherwise. Last night we were able to have a more intelligent and scripturally based discussion with our 15 year old than we have had in the past with some who have been Christians longer than our daughter’s 15 years of life. God truly blessed us with that last night!
Thank you Lord!

Amen! This is so awesome!!! Our son also came home from AWANA and told us a similar thing regarding a scripture and the leaders interpretation. Praise God we teach the bible at home and go to a great bible church!!! For a child recognize and question things they don’t quite understand is a gift. I’m so thrilled for your daughter to have that confidence!
