Dreaming and God’s Reassurance!
There have been times in my life when I have questioned if I was really where God wanted me to be. God has been gracious in reaffirming that to me, over and over again. One of those times happened again today. I am always thankful for those times. It is a great comfort to know that God has my life laid out before me and has it planned in advance. I am a person who has very vivid dreams (sometimes a good thing sometimes a horrible thing) but I believe that sometimes God shows me glimpses of my future in them. Before you go thinking I am off my rocker please hear me out. I never know that God is showing me things at the time. Maybe I am just dense but I think that is the way God intended.
The way this has played out in my life is like this…
I will be in a place and I will feel as if I am not really there but watching a movie or have an intense feeling of deja vue. I will know without a doubt that I have lived this once before. I have been in this exact spot and viewing this exact scene. As I sit and ponder on this I realize that I had dreamed this years before. I used to think this was just a coincidence but it has happened too many times (every few years). And all of those times where times when I needed reassurance from the Lord.
I truly believe that God placed in my dreams pictures of my future so that at those times of need He could show me that I am right where He ordained for me to be.
You may think me crazy but I am just thankful and praising my Lord for His provision, His comfort, His reassurance, and His plan for my life!

Wonderful insight, Mama A. I’ve had those moments so I know a little of what you are talking about. Do you write devotions? Would you send me a link to them?

Gatekeeper, you flatter me by thinking I could write devotions! The only things I have written are here on my blog. This blog really is my first attempt at writing anything.

Perhaps the gatekeeper’s comment is another way God is showing you a glimpse of your future.
I certainly do not think you are off your rocker. Dug positively saw me in a dream before he met me. And I recognized him as God’s gift to me long before we became Christians.

Rebecca~ I never saw myself as one qualified to write devotionals! I guess it has always been said that God doesn’t call the qualified but He qualifies the called. This will just need to be something to pray about.

Just last week my husband was driving while I sat in the passenger seat when he had an overwhelming sense of de ja vue. It was so real it made him cry. My husband does not cry.
I wondered that day how this fits into bringing God glory. It is so amazing you posted on it.
You’ve given me some things to chew on. Thanks for sharing.
