Moving Where???

Well, we found out today that having orders in hand does not always mean that you know where you are going! Walter Reed dropped the two AF slots and so we are no longer moving to DC. Hubby will be in the same program in San Antonio now. We are all a little bit disappointed, we were looking forward to a year in our Nation’s capital and everything we could see and experience. We were pretty close to having our house lined up and Brian had already spent a good bit of money on getting enrolled in the doctoral program at Erksine Seminary. I guess the Lord is still stretching me on letting Him have total control. It is obvious that I do not! We are disappointed as I said, but the initial shock is wearing off and we are looking forward to being around some family we have not seen in a good long while, who are also moving San Antonio this summer. Things are always changing! Please pray for the Lord to provide us a home, we have a lot less time now to secure one. Thanks!

There is so much to see and do in San Antonio, and Texas is SO homeschool friendly! I think you will wind up liking it there. We’ve never been stationed in TX (hubby is in the AF nurse corps and really has no desire to work at Wilford Hall), but I think I’d love livingjavascript:void(0)

    Karen,
We were actually stationed in Abilene b4 coming to Washington, and we have been to San Antonio several times (though never stationed there), we have family there as well. I am sure we will enjoy it and YES Tx homeschool laws are great! We will actually be at Brooks Army Medical Center instead of WIlford Hall. Even though we are AF hubby will be w/ the Army on this 1 year assignment.

How funny…. my husband is also working for the Army, even though he is AF. We’re at Travis and this is our last duty station. Just 3 more years until *we* get to pick where we live!
