Shurley English
Our family loves Shurley English for our homeschool. It is fun and easy to use. The lesson plans are all written out for you. This cuts down on prep time which is a great benefit when you have a lot of children to teach.
Here are some things that make this program unique.
- Shurley uses a question and answer flow to determine the parts of speech, there are specific queations to which help them identify the different parts of a sentence.
- Shurley uses jingles which define the parts of speech and teach how to find them within a sentence. I find my children singing these and it is a reinforcement of what they have learned every time they sing it.
- Repetition is used to master each concept taught but there is also daily practice of old skills

I was skimming through the site…my daughter is currently doing kindergarten…is this something good to start next year, for first grade?

evel but personally I would say that your child should be reading before starting this program.
